Keep Me In Your Will..

Driving home from church today..
I heard the most amazing song on the radio.

"Keep me in your will"... was the title.

For those of you who haven't heard it..
It's a wonderful.. and most inspired song.
The simplicity of it.. grabbed my heart.

"Lord, keep me in your will....So I won't be in your way."

I immediately came home..
Typed the words I could remember on my computer .. and listened again.

Sometimes..
I truly believe God gives people the ability to write a song..
Because He knew there would be a moment when...
One of his children would listen and the depths of their very soul would be so touched.

I sat.. pondered the lyrics.. and hot tears fell down my cheeks.

Here are some of them...

Sometimes I think I’m in control
And I act so foolishly ..

Facing problems on my own
I don’t know what’s best for me..

My mistakes at times disturb
All the plans You have made.

Lord, keep me in Your will
So I won’t be in Your way.

I know we must all be guilty.
We tend to plan our lives...
make our schedules...
be on top of everything..
be "in control"of our days..
we like to create what we would like to see
for our families, our loved ones.. and our children.

But, do we ever stop and think..

"Lord, is this ... exactly how you want my life?"

Remind Lord I'm just a glove.
In which you place your hand...

Not my will but yours be done...
Though I don't understand..

The best laid plans I've made..
Somehow always go astray.

Lord, Keep me in your will.
So I don't be in your way.

The little song opened up a world of thoughts to me.
Our lives here... get so stressful and our burdens get so heavy.
We pray we can get over each mountain....
and have the strength to cross each valley.

We all rely on our own flesh way too much.

We should realize...

If we our eyes were opened... each and every Christian thats striving, battling and moving moutains in the service of a great and mighty God.

I honestly believe... IF our eyes were opened... We would see angels camped about them.
Holding them up...
Leading them..
Taking each step with them..
Being a genuine comfort in times of desperate need.
..and we would be amazed.

I don't know about you friends..
But I am SO thankful that our precious Saviour holds the master plan for my life.

Put me where you want to.
Not where I want to be.

If I should ask for things I want..
Lord, give me what I need.

When I complain from time to time..
Forgive me Lord I pray.

JUST keep me in your will.
So, I won't be in your way.

I need you dear Lord..
Each and every single day.

Keep me in your will..
So I won't be in your way.

We are all actors in this play called life...
Through the heartache..
Through the happy..
Through the good..
And through the bad scenes..

I am SO thankful..
There is a Director.

Watching our act.. Guiding our movement...
Minute by minute.. making sure our performance is perfect.
And behind the scenes ...
He has written a beautiful script.
I KNOW.. He inscribed with loving hands the ending of our story ...and it is truly.. by grace..
happily ever after.

When the final line is read..
When the curtains close..
And applause echos throughout the building.

I want to be able to turn to Him and hear..

"Well done, my good and faithful child..
You played your part well."

I hope all of you.. take a moment today and consider the words of this song as I have done.

You'll be blessed... I'm sure of it.

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand."
Psalm 37:23-24

  4. Beautiful, Gen! Truly the prayer of every real christian. Sometimes God's perfect will isn't what we would choose but is always for our good if we can just learn to trust him!

  7. It's been a long time since I've had time to catch up with your blog, but this post made me pause because I too had the exact reaction to "Keep me in Your will" as you did. It's a powerful song, with a humbling message. I'll bet you would be able to sing it beautifully.

I really enjoyed seeing all your pictures & reading your thoughts.

    God bless you.
